Scripture Reading: Proverbs 24:13-14

“My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste: So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.” (Proverbs 24:13-14)

Not all knowledge is honey; it is the “knowledge of wisdom” which concerns your soul, which is precious. It is very, very rewarding. There is no disappointment with it.

All earthly knowledge is full of flaws. It is continuously being updated, corrected, and even found to be totally false.

But this is not true concerning heavenly knowledge. The Word of God, your Bible, is a book of absolute knowledge and wisdom because it is absolute Truth. It is the truest book that has ever been written. No other book can compare with it in absolute truth.

The truths found in My Word are so “delicious” to the soul that they are as sweet as honey to the one who delights in knowing Me.

There is great reward and much honour given in Heaven to those who are the great students of My Word. Positions of teaching shall be given to them throughout eternity, where they shall continue to shine as the brightness of the firmament, and as the stars for ever and ever (Daniel 12:3).

Knowledge in all earthly things is being increased; so also is the knowledge in all heavenly things. Apply your heart to learning and your ear to receiving knowledge.

Know that it will delight your soul and sweeten your life. As honey makes the sour sweet, even so the revelation and blessing that comes with true knowledge will make your life sweeter, even in the hour of your greatest trial and task. Just to know why a certain tragedy has happened helps to take the sting out of it and alleviates the pain.
