The story of this ministry is one of dedication, courage, sacrifice, love and miracles. It began in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1966 when its founder, Gwen Shaw, a missionary with nineteen years of field experience, began to pray the prayer which Jesus told us to pray: "Send labourers into Your harvest, Lord."

She saw the lack of dedicated men and women and how supernaturally God was using her. If the men would not go, surely there must be women like herself who were willing to dedicate their lives to God and live the life of faith and obedience that souls might be saved.

During a long fast, the Lord sent His messenger to her with the word, "You are raised up of God to call out the End-Time Handmaidens."
Since that time, multitudes of women, many men and even young people have heard the call of God through Sister Gwen and have dedicated their lives to Him. Each one hears the heartbeat of the Lord for their individual calling and follows Him like she has--with an unconditional surrender to His will.
